Legacy Taekwondo has been running classes in Sutton since 2010. In this time our Club has grown considerably and we have over 100 students. We like to think of our Club as extended family and hold events over the year so that our students can get to know each other and build a sense of community. Many of our students regularly attend competitions all over the country as well as around Europe.
With a highly decorated carrier in Taekwondo Lilly has competed at the highest level in the world, representing Serbia at the World Championships after winning the national Championships in ***. Having retired from competing Lilly is now helping to develop the next generation, with a Keen eye for detail she is able to spot small mistakes that shave fragments of seconds off techniques which at highest levels of competition makes the difference between winning and losing.
Following a similar path to Coach Lewis Nick began training karate at a young age and was able to show great disciple and determination to achieve his 1st Dan at the age of 16 under a highly regarded instructor. He stepped away from martial arts to pursue his career but was lured back by coach Lewis in 2011 and has been assisting in classes while focusing on developing his owns abilities. Nick utilises a similar Coaching style to our head instructor focusing or discipline and developing a strong set of fundamental practical skills that will bring our students a sense of confidence knowing that if they can make it through one of his sessions, they can do anything!
Farzad gained his black belt in Taekwondo while Training in his native Afghanistan before traveling to India and finally starting a family here in the UK. And is working towards his 3rd Dan. At legacy we like to think our club as an extension of our family, in this case it’s been taken seriously, Farzad initially found legacy when looking for a club for his nephew to join over 5 years ago and was so impressed by the training methods he decided to get back into Taekwondo and get involved with teaching too, we currently have 4 active members of his family at the club.
